ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
Sister 2 Sister International Women's Ministry is a non-profit, Christian organization that is focused on bringing together women with a passion for Christ. Our mission is to empower women by providing them with the tools and resources they need to become leaders in their communities. We believe that when women come together, they can make a significant impact on the world around them. Our organization is dedicated to identifying and researching opportunities to engage in acts of service to individuals and organizations. We are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of women everywhere.
WHAT WE DO
Sister 2 Sister International Women's Ministry considers it our Christian duty to minister to the brokenhearted, the poor, and the lost. As a result, we take our outreach and community service very seriously. We support a number of organizations, coordinate regular drives and partner with others to provide resources to those in need. Some of these partnerships include:
-
Period Poverty - Period Poverty is a global issue, and it is estimated that 42% of girls in Jamaica suffer from it. They have to go without sanitary supplies for months at a time as a result of financial constraints. Period poverty can affect physical, emotional and mental health and wellbeing. Consequently, our Ministry aims to reduce the impact of period poverty by donating supplies on a regular basis.
-
Back-to-School Initiative - This initiative provides school supplies to students in need all over the world to help offset the financial burden parents/guardians face as they prepare for the upcoming academic year. Every gift counts as we seek to empower future generations by providing basic educational assistance to those less fortunate.
-
Shining Hope (Baby Clothes & Mentoring Program) - This foundation supports teenage mothers, offering hope and providing a second chance for teen moms in pursuit of their secondary education after pregnancy. We help the vision of the late Dr. Melania Waugh, founder, who saw first-hand how society and some families gave up on teen moms, leaving them to fend for themselves and their babies, often in a hostile environment. We continue to support the efforts of the foundation to achieve its mission.
